Central University of Technology (CUT) 2027 Application Dates
Central University of Technology, Free State, has officially confirmed the opening and closing dates for the 2027 application cycle. During this period, the online application portal will be active to receive applications from qualified students. Prospective applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible, as spaces for some competitive programmes are limited.

No Application Fee: Central University of Technology does not charge any application fee for both domestic and international applicants. You can submit your application online for free, so be cautious of anyone or any agent requesting payment
National Benchmark Test (NBT): Some CUT programmes may require applicants to write the National Benchmark Test (NBT). The NBT is used to assess your academic readiness for university study in areas such as mathematics, academic literacy, and quantitative literacy. Applicants should check the specific requirements for their chosen programme to confirm whether the NBT is required.
Portfolio or Practical Assessments: For programmes in Art, Design, or Engineering at Central University of Technology, Free State, applicants may need to submit a portfolio or complete practical assessments. These are used to evaluate creativity, technical skills, and readiness for the programme and are mandatory for admission into these courses.
Admission Point Score (APS): The Admission Point Score (APS) at Central University of Technology, Free State is calculated from your best six NSC subjects, with each grade assigned points (80β100% = 7 points, 70β79% = 6 points, down to 0β29% = 1 point). You add the points from these subjects to get your total APS. Each programme has a minimum APS requirement, which you must meet or exceed to qualify, with competitive programmes often requiring higher scores.
Late Applications: Some undergraduate programmes at Central University of Technology, Free State, fill up quickly, so it is important to apply on time. CUT does not accept late applications, and all submissions must be made within the official application period.
