How to qualify for a National N Diploma

A student will qualify for a National N Diploma in Engineering Studies on completion of a minimum of 12 subjects, ranging from N4 to N6, together with a minimum of two years in-service training in a related field.
A student will qualify for a National N Diploma in Commerce on completion of a minimum of 12 subjects, ranging from N4 – N6. A minimum of 18 months in-service training in the related field is to be completed after the 12 subjects have been passed.

What are N courses

N courses are vocation-oriented courses, N stands for NATED which is an abbreviation for National Accredited Technical Education Diploma.

Report 191 programmes are delivered under the auspices of the Department of Higher Education and Training and quality assured by Umalusi. .The programmes consist of 18 months theoretical studies at colleges and 18 months relevant practical application in work places. Engineering studies range from N1 – N6 while Business and Utility Studies range from N4 – N6.
