The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) provides funding for South African citizens who wish to study at any university or TVET college but are financially disadvantaged. If you are among the many students who applied for NSFAS funding during the application period, there is good news for you, as the status portal has been activated

NSFAS opened the application portal for individuals seeking funding on 21 September 2025. Those who have applied for funding are encouraged to track their application status as the management launches the online system.

NSFAS Online Application 2026

To check your NSFAS status for the 2026 academic year, you should have finished the online application process. If you have not applied yet, do it immediately because the portal is still open.

How to Track NSFAS Application Status

Once you’ve submitted your NSFAS application, follow the steps below to check your application

Visit the NSFAS Website at www.nsfas.org.za.
Use the login credentials (PASSWORD AND USERNAME) you created during the application process to access your account.
Once logged in, move to the “MY STATUS”
Click on the “CHECK MY STATUS”.
Click on the “View Your Status”
Your status may be under review, approved, or rejected
