Application methods sanctioned by the University of Fort Hare (UFH).

The University offers two application methods: online and manual. Applicants can choose the method that suits them best but cannot use both methods simultaneously.

How to Apply Online to UFH (University of Fort Hare)

Below are the guidelines for applying to the University of Fort Hare

Go to www.ufh.ac.za to access the UFH Online Application portal.
In the upper-right corner of the homepage, choose “Apply Now” and click on it.
Verify that you have all the necessary data and paperwork by consulting the student guide and online application checklist.
Click on your citizenship status.
Type in your identification number.
Read and agree to the terms and conditions.
Give your name, address, and phone number.
Fill out the application form completely.
Complete all required fields indicated by a red asterisk (*).
You can save your work and come back to finish the application at a later time.
Decide which study courses to take.
Describe your educational background.
Fill out the online application and submit it.

Academic Record, including proof that the Certificate of Conduct has been requested from the previous University / University of Technology / Technikon if you had registered at another institution

University of Fort Hare (UFH) Admission Requirements 2026

If you want to study at the University of Fort Hare (UFH), you must meet the following minimum admission requirements for your chosen qualification be it a degree, diploma, or postgraduate degree:

Applicants holding a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) need to pass a minimum of 4 subjects at a rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or better in any four 20-credit NSC subjects.
Applicants holding a South African Senior Certificate need matriculation endorsement.
