How to Apply to MUT 2025-2026
To apply for admission at Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) via the Central Applications Office, you must complete the procedures below:
- Go to our website: www.cao.ac.za and click on ‘Apply’
- Read the information and click on ‘Continue with Application
- Enter your ID number and click on ‘Submit’
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on ‘Continue with Application
- Start to enter ALL the details requested. Once you have entered all the requested information, click on ‘Next’
- Click on ‘Continue with Online Application
- A pop-up window will appear with,h your CAO number, password, and EasyPay number. Read the instructions
- Click on ‘Continue with Online Application’.
- Follow the instructions and complete ALL the information requested, then click ‘Next’.
- Complete the ‘Next of Kin’ details and click ‘Next’.
- Insert the school name and click on ‘Search’. The school name will appear in a box and you must enter the year you attended that school and the year you finished attending that school.
- Click ‘Next’.
- When you reach ‘Process My Application’, click on the button. YOUR APPLICATION HAS NOW BEEN SUBMITTED
- The message on your screen will display that your submission has been successful.
- You can now pay online and/or upload your supporting documents.
- Pay via EasyPay.
- Submit your fully completed application form by clicking on the tab “Submit“
MUT Application Documents Required For 2025 Applications
The following documents must be submitted or uploaded during the online and manual application.
For local Applicants
- National Senior Certificate or Statement of Results
- Senior Certificate
- Identity Document
- Students transferring from other universities should submit an original academic record and a certificate of good conduct
International Applicants
- A valid study permit
- A valid medical aid/health insurance cover
- A valid passport
- GCE, GCSE, IGCSE, or Cambridge School Certificate
- Students holding a GCE GCSE IGCSE or the Cambridge School Certificate must have passed five approved ordinary-level subjects including the English language provided three subjects have been passed at the same examination sitting.
Hard Copy Application for the 2025/2026 academic year
- Application forms can be downloaded from the CAO website, www.cao.ac.za. The CAO number appears in the tear-off slip on the CAO application form
