Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) accepts applications from first-year students, transfer students, and international and domestic students who wish to study at the institute for the 2025 academic intake. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) requires all applications, regardless of field of study, to be completed and submitted through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, as the portal is scheduled to open on November 1, 2024
One important aspect of MIT admission is that students are considered based on the eligibility criteria for both first-year and transfer students. The first-year and transfer applications are now available for the 2025 academic intake for the fall semester. If you’re applying for Early Action, all applications must be submitted by November 1, 2024; if you’re applying for Regular Action, the deadline is January 4, 2025. Please note that in order to be considered for the fall semester of 2025 at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), you must adhere to these dates.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Application Fee 2025
All prospective students must pay a $75 non-refundable application fee to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Both local and international applicants who are unable to pay the application fee may request a fee waiver in the Fee Waiver Request section of the application during the application process. Please be aware that to be granted, you have to meet the requirements for the fee waiver.

In order to be eligible for admission to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), you have to meet one or more of the following requirements.
- Students who choose to pursue a bachelor’s degree full-time at a university after finishing their secondary education
- Those who have never attended MIT previously are considered first-time students.
- Students who, after graduating from high school, have spent at least a year in college
- Students who have previously enrolled in courses at another degree-granting institution
- both local and international students
- Students wishing to change their majors
- Students who are denied Early Action are not eligible to apply for Regular Action
- Candidates who are at least 16 years old

- An activities list, and a personal essay
- $75 fee (or request a fee waiver)
- School Report (which includes a counselor letter) and high school transcript

- High School transcripts. GPA required: 3.5 (90%)
- English language proficiency: TOEFL-iBT: 90. IELTS: 7.0.
- Test Scores: SAT: 1520-1580. ACT: 35-36

Follow the step-by-step application guidelines to complete and submit your applications as soon as possible for Fall 2025
- To use the MIT application portal, go to www.apply.mitadmissions.org/apply.
- Before you begin, make sure you read the instructions.
- The initial step for all students is to register with MIT. Click the “Create an Account” option to get started.
- Please input the following to create an account:
- The email address
- Names, first and last
- Enter your birthdate and select “Continue.”
- You will receive a temporary PIN in your email address.
- Put the temporary PIN in the designated field.
- Select Login.
- Please set a new password for your account in order to safeguard its security.
- Start by clicking on START NEW APPLICATION to begin using the online apps.
- Fill out all the required fields, then double-check any mistakes.
- Upload any necessary supporting files.
- You must pay the $75 non-refundable application or processing fee.
- Send in your applications to finish the process.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Financial Aid
Are you considering how to pay for your studies at MIT? Yes, there is funding available for both domestic and foreign students. Depending on whether you are a continuing student or a prospective student applying for Early or Regular Action, your financial assistance application deadline varies. For Early Action, submit every required document by November 30; for Regular Action and transfer students, submit it by February 15. Do not submit the FAFSA. Simply send in your application as soon as you can. Applications submitted after the deadline will be considered for financial aid later than those submitted on time.
