NSFAS Trimester 3 Applications for 2025 Are Now Open

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened Trimester 3 applications for 2025, giving students one last chance this year to secure funding for their studies. Applications opened in September and will close on Friday, 12 September 2025. If you are planning to study at a TVET college, this is your opportunity to apply for financial support that covers tuition, registration, accommodation, transport, and learning materials.

Why You Should Apply Now

The application window is short, and missing the deadline means waiting until the next cycle in 2026. Applying early gives you enough time to upload the correct supporting documents and avoid system errors that may occur closer to the deadline.

What Youโ€™ll Need to Apply for NSFAS Trimester 3 (2025)

Before applying, make sure you have all the required documents ready. These include:

  • A valid South African ID document or birth certificate

  • Parent(s), guardian(s), or spouseโ€™s ID copies

  • Proof of income (payslips or affidavit) or a SASSA letter if applicable

  • Your latest academic records or transcript

  • Proof of residence

How to Apply for NSFAS Trimester 3 (2025)

Follow these steps to apply online:

  1. Visit the official NSFAS website at www.nsfas.org.za

  2. Click on the myNSFAS link and log in (or create an account if you donโ€™t already have one).

  3. Complete the online application form by filling in your personal and academic details.

  4. Upload all the required supporting documents.

  5. Review your application carefully and click Submit.

Who Can Apply?

NSFAS Trimester 3 applications are specifically for students enrolled in TVET Colleges across South Africa. If you are registered or planning to register for the upcoming trimester, you are strongly encouraged to apply before the 12 September 2025 deadline.
