Rhodes University Application 2026 Dates

If you are a student with matric results or any other academic qualifications equivalent to that, you must be prepared to apply for at least 2 undergraduate courses currently open at Rhodes University for the 2026 academic intake. According to Rhodes University, the 2026 application period is open on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, and closes on Sunday, November 30, 2025

To apply for any undergraduate courses online at Rhodes University, follow the steps outlined below.

Go to www.ross.ru.ac.za
Register your Rhodes account
Activate your account via the email link sent to you
Enter your password to login
Click on Admission on the Application Page
Complete the application by providing all the required information
Tick the “Accept Terms and Conditions” box
Click Submit.
Pay the R100 application fee using the provided payment options.
If paying by bank transfer, email the deposit slip with your application number as the reference to registrar@ru.ac.za.
Once submitted, your application will be processed.

Rhodes University Admission Requirements 2026

Undergraduate Admission

Degree: The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi) with an achievement rating of 4 (adequate achievement, 50-59%) or better in four subjects chosen from the recognized 20-credit NSC subjects. In addition, applicants must have a minimum point score of 26. A grade 12 certificate with a bachelor or matric exemption is required if grade 12 has been achieved.

Diploma: The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 3 (moderate achievement, 40-49%) or better in four recognized NSC 20-credit subjects.

Certificate: The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi.
To be considered for admission to specific programmes, applicants are required to have the appropriate combinations of recognized National Senior Certificate subjects as well as certain levels of achievement in these subjects.
