Rhodes University Application 2026 Login Portal Open

The online application portal for Rhodes University’s 2026 intake will open on April 1, 2025, and be available until September 30, 2025, for both South African and international students. Late applications will not be accepted. For more information on the application process, fees, and required documents, read this article in full.

How to Complete Your Rhodes University Online Application for 2026

Visit the official website at www.ru.ac.za and log in to the student portal to complete your Rhodes University online application for 2026. You can also download the Rhodes University prospectus in PDF format from the website. Students who have applied can check their application status by visiting the student portal at www.ru.ac.za and using the status check for 2026. Remember to apply for the 2026 intake using the Rhodes University application login or portal.

The online application form for Rhodes University is available at www.ru.ac.za for both undergraduate and postgraduate applicants. Returning applicants can reapply by logging into the Rhodes University iEnabler page with their login details

Guidelines for supporting documents:

Copies of your original documents must be stamped and signed by the awarding school, institution, notary public, or a Commissioner of Oaths. If you use Postal or Police services, please ensure that the stamp includes the officer’s date, name, signature, and rank.
Rhodes University does not accept online results obtained from self-service portals.

What To Do

Before you Apply

Please consult the 2026 Undergraduate Prospectus to ensure you meet the minimum entrance requirements before applying.
Each prospective student must complete the online application.
Once your online application has been submitted and processed, you will receive a student number (Reference number).
Receiving a student number (Reference number) does NOT imply that you have been accepted by Rhodes University yet.

In the case of applicants re-writing Grade 12 subjects, applications will be processed on the current results available. If Grade 12 has been written more than once then your combined results must be submitted with your application.

N.B.:

After your application has been processed you will receive communication from Rhodes, explaining how to access your Student Centre through the University Portal, enabling you to track your progress and status, as well as other communications and possible outstanding items. Some applications for specialized fields might only be processed after the official closing date.

How to Apply Online at Rhodes University

Complete the steps below:

Register on the online system at https://ross.ru.ac.za/ using your email address and creating a password
You will then be sent an email with a link to activate you on the system.
Click the link to activate your registration.
This process will take you back to ROSS where you need to click the Admission/Other buttons (clicking the right button here is important)
You will then be allowed to enter your login and password created in step one.
Once you have completed your application you need to tick the button accepting the terms and conditions and submit.
When you have submitted you are required to pay the R100 application fee. Various options are provided by the system.
If you use a bank to pay your application fee, be sure to email us the deposit slip with your application number as the reference.
Once you have finished the above steps, your application will be processed, and you will receive a student number and login.
