NSFAS Laptop Application form at TUT For 2026
In today’s digital world, having a smart device has become essential in education. Students must have a laptop, tablet, or desktop for research and digital learning. As a result, Tshwane University of Technology is offering an open application for an allowance to cover educational supplies, such as laptops, for the 2026 academic year. This initiative is spearheaded by the NSFAS funding bursary, a public organization administered by the government of South Africa
The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of South Africa directed NSFAS to purchase learning tools like laptops at their own expense for students on the scheme and any student (Non-Nsfas) interested in ensuring that the blended learning methodology is realized.
This was done as part of the South African government’s mission to ensure that the difficulties posed by the COVID-19 pandemic do not affect teaching and learning at higher education and training institutions. So, if you are a student at the Tshwane University of Technology, apply by downloading the form from TUT’s official website.
The learning material allowances are only available to students who are recipients of the DHET Bursary Scheme. You can submit an application for the learning material allowance after your application is accepted.
You can register for the laptop starting from January 28. The application period for the 2026 DHET bursary learning material allowances will be open from January 28 to March 17, 2025.
The maximum amount payable for the device is limited to the NSFAS learning material allowance for the relevant academic year. Applicants can only receive this benefit once during their academic career. If an applicant’s funding status changes, if they discontinue their studies, or if NSFAS rejects them for any reason, they will be responsible for repaying the laptop’s cost.
The application for the learning material allowance is available on the Tshwane University of Technology’s official website for prospective applicants. To complete the form, grab your smart device and download it right away. After printing the form, you must fill out the necessary sections and send it to TUT for review.
