Your application materials must be in an electronic format that is easily readable and accessible by anyone. If you submit your application too late, you risk having it rejected.

If there are no openings in the course you are applying for, the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) may nevertheless reject your application even if you submit it on time.

Eligibility Criteria for UKZN Late Applications

University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) accepts late applications from prospective students who missed the main application window. You could be:

Applying for the first time
Applying from another university or college
A domestic student
An international student
An undergraduate student
A postgraduate student

Due to the limited number of available courses, there is no guarantee that you will be accepted into your chosen program, even if you meet the minimum admission requirements. It is critical to remember that late applications are not always considered.

UKZN University Application Fee

To apply for admission at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), all applicants must pay a non-refundable R420 application fee. The late application fee must be paid at www.cao.ac.za.

How to Apply For 2025 Late Applications at UKZN

All University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) late applications for 2025 must be submitted online via the CAO portal by following the steps below:

Go to the official CAO website at www.cao.ac.za.
Click on the late application link.
Create a CAO application number for your academic application
Choose your qualification.
Select “Apply” from the tabs. You must apply by the deadline.
Complete your online application form.
Upload the following supporting documents:
- Final Grade 11 assessment
- National Senior Certificate (NSC) or IEB/Statement of Symbols
- Final-year results with levels/percentages
- Final-year subjects with levels
- Pre-final (Grade 11) results
- Certified copy of your ID/passport
Submit your application as soon as possible.
You will receive an e-mail that confirms that the university has received your application.

No late applications will be accepted for international students
