UKZN Online Application Now Open For 2025-2026

The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) is currently accepting applications for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The application period is open from April 1st to September 30th, 2024, and applies to a wide range of applicants.

This includes new South African students, returning undergraduate students, students who have taken a gap year, local postgraduate applicants, and international applicants from other countries. UKZN Application Fees

The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) accepts both manual and electronic applications for admission. There are different fees for early and late applications:

  • Early submission: R210
  • Late submission: R420

How to Apply to UKZN 2025-2026

Here’s how to apply to the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) via the Central Applications Office (CAO):

Eligibility:

  • First-time undergraduate applicants: This applies to South African students applying for their first undergraduate degree at UKZN.

  6. Submit your application:

    • Once completed, submit your application form and all required documents to the CAO by the closing date.

What are the minimum requirements for a Degree, Diploma, and certificate?

Bachelor’s Degree:

An NSC with a minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching of the Higher Education Institution (HEI), coupled with an achievements rating of 4 (50-59%) or better in any four (4) NSC subjects except Life Orientation.

Diploma:

A diploma pass requires 40% in four higher credit subjects, and 30% in three lower credit subjects, and you may fail one subject.

Certificate:

A certificate pass requires a 40% pass in your home language, 2 subjects above 40%, 4 subjects above 30% and you may fail 1 subject. This pass allows you to study for a higher certificate.
