University of the Western Cape (UWC) Online Application 2026

The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is a public research university in Bellville, near Cape Town, South Africa. It has now opened the application window for the 2026 academic intake to the general public and all interested individuals. Applications are open for honorary degrees, higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, degrees, and other courses

To apply online, you are required to have a working email address and your South African ID number, or in case you are an international applicant, you will need a passport number.

The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is accepting online applications for the 2026 academic year from April 2, 2025, to September 30, 2025. The following documents must be converted into pdf and jpg with sizes, not more than 5MB

Proof of receipt of your application fee payment (This is a non-refundable compulsory fee for every applicant)
A certified copy of your ID document (for South African nationals, an ID document is required; your application will not be processed unless you provide a certified copy of your ID and your passport number for international applicants).
Exam Outcomes: Grade 12 final results (if available). The results of grade 11 (if you are now in grade 12) are crucial to your application. As a result, keep it on hand.

UWC Admission Requirement 2026

Minimum Requirements: The minimum entry criterion is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) Bachelors pass, which is defined as an achievement rating of 4 (sufficient success 50–59 percent) or better in four courses selected from the accepted 20 credit NSC subjects (also known as the designated subject list).

System of UWC Points: UWC uses a weighted approach to calculate points for admission to degree and diploma programs. A minimal number of points must be obtained for a candidate to be admitted to degree programs.
