The University of the Free State (UFS) opens its application portal for 2026 admissions on April 1, 2025. Students can apply for any undergraduate program at the Bloemfontein and Qwaqwa campuses starting on this date. Applications for Access Programs (AP) will open on July 1, 2025. Be sure to apply early, as spots fill up quickly!
Document Submission and Application Requirements
While you can submit your application without supporting documents, it is essential that all required documents—including a certified copy of your identity document, National Senior Certificate (NSC), and/or most recent academic results—be submitted by September 30, 2025, to complete your application. How to Apply to UFS for 2025/2026
- Visit the official website at www.apply.ufs.ac.za.
- Click the “Apply” tab.
- Select the “New Application” tab to begin.
- Enter your details.
- Activate your account using the link sent to your email.
- Enter the reference number to start the application.
- Re-enter your contact details before clicking “Next.”
- Select a course only if you meet its requirements.
- Complete every required field.
- Enter your academic and employment history.
- Upload the required documents.
- Check the box to accept the terms and conditions.
- Click “Submit” to send your application.
