The 2026 application period is now open. The University of Venda invites the public to apply for undergraduate and graduate programs for the 2026 academic year. Applications can be submitted online or manually.

Who qualifies to apply for admission at UNIVEN?

Persons applying for the first time at the University of Venda
Persons who were not enrolled in any course at the University of Venda before
An applicant who did not get a University of Venda Student number in any previous year

Document Requirements for UNIVEN 2026 Applications

Failure to upload all the required compulsory documents will result in your application not being considered

A South African Identity number or passport number (international students)
Cell phone number
A working email address
Credit/debit card with CV number to pay the R100 application fee online.
Grade 11 report or statement of grade 12 results
A copy of the Matric Certificate
Copy of study /residence permit / medical insurance /SAQA Evaluation Certificate

N.B.: Ensure all the documents above are certified and scanned before you submit them.

How to Apply Online for UNIVEN 2026

To submit an online application to the University of Venda: Use your computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile device to access the internet, then follow the instructions below.

Go to www.univen.ac.za to access the UNIVEN Online Application portal.
In the upper-right corner of the homepage, choose “Apply for Admission” and click on it.
Verify that you have all the necessary data and paperwork by consulting the student guide and online application checklist.
Click on your citizenship status.
Type in your identification number.
Read and agree to the terms and conditions.
Give your name, address, and phone number.
Fill out the application form completely.
Complete all required fields indicated by a red asterisk (*).
You can save your work and come back to finish the application at a later time.
Decide which study courses to take.
Describe your educational background.
Fill out the online application and submit it.

How to Check Your UNIVEN Application Status

To track the status of your application at the University of Venda:

Visit the University of Venda website: www.univen.ac.za.
Select and click on the Student Enquiry Link.” from the drop-down menu.
Please click on Academic Admissions Status
Enter your application number and click “Submit”.
Your application status will be displayed on the screen.

Registration for 2026 at UNIVEN

The University of Venda registration period will begin on January 15, 2025, and end on February 5, 2025. The first semester of 2025 will not allow late registration. As soon as they receive their acceptance letter, applicants are encouraged to register. The registration process is first-come, first-served.
