CAO Opens 2025 Late Applications
The Central Applications Office (CAO) is responsible for processing applications for many South African higher education institutions, including universities and Tvet Colleges. Missing the application deadline can be frustrating, but it does not necessarily mean you are out of the league because there is always a second application window known as late applications. Prepare sufficiently for the 2025 CAO late applications, as the date has been formally confirmed. You need to see the process, fees, and other important details about the CAO late application, which will open in November 2024.
Late applications for 2025 are now allowed, according to the Central Applications Office (CAO) management. If you want to apply to DUT, MUT, UKZN, and MUT, as well as various private universities, please submit an application through the Central Application Office for the 2025 academic year. Beginning November 1, 2024, all late candidates for 2025 will have until March 31, 2025, to complete the application, submit supporting papers, and give evidence of payment of a non-refundable application fee to the admission office via the online portal.
Any application for a specific institution or course received after the program’s closing date is considered a late application by the Central Applications Office (CAO). However, institutions may still feel these late applications depending on available space. Early submission helps applicants get admission to study their choice of courses. Additionally, applicants who apply after the deadline must pay a penalty. It’s always preferable to apply before the institution’s program-ending date, if not earlier, to avoid this treatment.
If you submit your application between November 1st, 2024, and March 31st, 2025, for the first semester of 2025, or May 31st, 2025, for the second semester of 2025, you will be charged a late administration fee in excess of the regular fee. This cost can be paid via EasyPay, online through the CAO website, or in person at their offices (cash payments are not allowed). When making your payment, make sure you use the relevant CAO number to guarantee that it is correctly processed.
Notwithstanding the generic CAO timetable, each program at each university has its deadline. As a result, any application received beyond the deadline is considered late, depending on the program and institution to which it is submitted. Applications received after the deadline will only be considered if there are still available slots. Make sure the program you’ve chosen still accepts late applications. All courses accepting late applications will be posted by the CAO. Before you apply, make sure you read the list. When applying for various courses, you must consider your capacity to meet the entry requirements.
Since you applying for late applications, the following documents must be submitted as soon as possible to enhance your chances.
