Who qualifies for DUT late applications?

To qualify for late applications, you must meet the following criteria:

You have not previously applied for the same program at DUT in 2026.
You meet the minimum entry requirements for your chosen program.

How much is the DUT late application fee?

The late application fee is R250 for domestic applicants (South African) and R300 for international applicants. This is non-refundable

Can I apply directly to DUT or CAO?

You cannot apply directly to DUT through their online application portal. All undergraduate applicants are to apply through the Central Applications Office (CAO).

How to apply for late applications at DUT through CAO

Apply for the courses that are still available for the 2024 late applications at Durban University of Technology (DUT) through the Central Application Office’s portal by following the steps below

Visit the CAO website: www.cao.ac.za
Create an account or log in: Register/Sign In
Choose “Apply”: Under “Applications” tab
Select “First Time Undergraduate”: If applicable
Read carefully and accept the terms: Review and Accept Terms and Conditions
Complete the personal details form: Enter your personal information
Choose application type: Select “New Application”
Select study institution: Choose “DUT”
Choose qualification level: Select your intended qualification level (e.g., undergraduate)
Choose programme category: Select your desired programme category
Choose specific programmes: Select up to 5 programme choices
Review your application: Check for any errors and omissions
Submit your application: Pay the application fee and submit
