DUT 2026 Applications Still Open

Durban University of Technology (DUT) is still accepting applications for the 2026 academic year from both South African and international students. The application deadline is November 30, 2025, so it is recommended to submit your application as soon as possible to avoid any delays.

To complete your application, ensure that all required documents, including the CAO online application form, ID document, academic transcript, email address, and proof of application fee payment, are submitted by the deadline through the Central Application Office website at www.cao.ac.za. Don’t wait—apply today!

Applicants who have already begun the application process are advised to complete it and upload all essential documents via the CAO application portal before the closing date. Act swiftly since time is running out.

Meeting Admission Requirements (Change of Qualifications)

Before submitting the applications, download the university’s prospectus and study the entry requirements for the chosen programme. If you do not satisfy the requirements, then log into the application portal and change your qualification by replacing it with one that matches and meets your current grades while the application is still open. If you are unable to modify or change your qualifications before November, you must wait until the Central Application Office (CAO) opens the Change of Mind (COM) application form on December 1.

Change of Contact Details

It is critical to update your contact information whenever necessary, as all communications will be via email and SMS. If your phone number or email address has recently changed, please update the application form with your new information before the deadline via www.cao.ac.za. You cannot amend or change any information on the application after the portal closes.

How to Submit Outstanding CAO Application Documents

If you haven’t uploaded any of these documents yet, please do so right now. Any outstanding documents must be submitted by November 30th through the Central Application Office website/portal.

Certified Copy of ID and Birth certificate
Final Grade 11 Report (if you are in Grade 12) OR
Highest qualification achieved
Copy of study/residence permit (if you are a non-South-African applicant)
Proof of Payment of Application Fee
June Grade 12 Report (as soon as you receive it if you are currently in Grade 12)
September/Trials Grade 12 Report (as soon as you receive it if you are currently in Grade 12)

How to Upload DUT Application Outstanding Documents

Follow the steps below as quickly as possible to upload all outstanding documents before the deadline via the central application office portal.

Log on to the CAO website at www.cao.ac.za using your CAO or ID number.
On the Home Page, click the ‘Upload My Document’ icon.
Read the instructions to find out what you need ‘to log in to upload your documents’.
Once logged in, follow the instructions to upload your papers and, if applicable, enter your examination results.
Check to ensure that you have uploaded the relevant documents and entered the correct results, where needed.
When you’re ready, click the ‘Submit My Documents’ button.
