To start a new application at Stellenbosch University for 2025-2026, the following requirements must be met:

Prospective students must submit the following documents when applying to Stellenbosch University. These are the documents needed to apply online to Stellenbosch University. Your application form is invalid without these documents, and it may be rejected for 2025 January intake admissions.

South Africa Applicants

Final grade 11 results as per the Department of Education guidelines.
National Senior Certificate (NSC) or IEB/Statement of Symbols of final school results

International Applicants

Grade 11 results (pre-final) and final-year school subjects with levels.
Final school results from the International Curriculum (Cambridge International, International Baccalaureate, etc.), including School of Tomorrow.

Non-academic documents

The student support form applies to only Students with disabilities who need additional support.
Faculty-specific documents Portfolio requirements for BA (Visual Arts)
Proof of payment (R100 nonrefundable application fee) if you pay offline
Proof of permanent residency, refugee, or asylum-seeking status

On the top menu of the page, select “Students.”
Select your qualification.
Examine your program options. You may choose up to three programs from any faculty.
Check that you meet the requirements for the program you’ve chosen.
Choose “Apply” from the tabs. The application must be submitted by the deadline.
Fill out your online application form. SU will need your e-mail address and phone number to contact you.
Following the creation of your profile, you can immediately proceed with your online application by following the system prompts.
Upload all supporting documentation.
Please take your time when filling out the application and provide accurate information to SU.
Submit your application.
You will be notified via email that the university has received your application. All emails sent to you will be available on the Applicant Portal as well.
If your application is successful, the university will contact you via the email address and phone number you provided.

Uploading supporting documents

Ensure that your electronic copies are clear and legible and that Stellenbosch University can read everything on the page. If the university is unable to do so, management will request that you resubmit the document, which will delay your application. Stellenbosch University prefers PDF documents, but doc, docx, jpg, jpeg, and png files are also acceptable. You will be unable to register at the University unless you have signed a student contract.
