Stellenbosch University Application Dates 2026

Stellenbosch University is accepting applications for the 2026 academic year. Undergraduate applications open on April 1st, 2025, and close on July 31st, 2025. Please note that late applications may not be considered. How much is the Stellenbosch University Application fee

Standard Application Fee: R100 Non-refundable (South African Rand). The amount Applies to All undergraduate and postgraduate applicants of Stellenbosch University. Students applying to the Stellenbosch University Business School are also exempted from the fee. Remember there is no hard copy Application.

What are the Required Documents for the Applications

Applicants must submit the following documents according to their qualifications or country of origin before the closing dates.

Academic documents we need if you are in your final school year:

South Africa Applicants

Final grade 11 results as per the Department of Education guidelines.
National Senior Certificate (NSC) or IEB/Statement of Symbols of final school results

International Applicants

Grade 11 results (pre-final) and final-year school subjects with levels.
Final school results from the International Curriculum (Cambridge International, International Baccalaureate, etc.), including School of Tomorrow.

Non-academic documents

The student support form applies to only Students with disabilities who need additional support.
Faculty-specific documents Portfolio requirements for BA (Visual Arts)
Proof of payment (R100 nonrefundable application fee) if you pay offline
Proof of permanent residency, refugee, or asylum-seeking status
Signed Student Contract

How to Apply Stellenbosch University (SU) Online Application Form 2026

Follow these easy steps to apply online to study at SU for the 2026 academic year.:

Access the official website at www.sun.ac.za.
Go to the “Student” page and select “Apply Now.”
Select the “New student” option and follow the instructions provided.
Create a profile by entering your ID number.
Activate your account via email.
Complete all needed fields and choose three study courses.
Share your education and professional experience.
Submit academic records and supporting documents (PDF, DOC, DOCX, JPG, JPEG, PNG).
Make sure all documents are clear and legible.

What’s next after the submission

You will receive an e-mail that confirms that the university has received your application. All the emails sent to you will also be available on the Applicant Portal.
The university will contact you using the email address and phone number you provided to let you know whether your application has been successful.

What are the minimum academic requirements for a bachelor’s degree?

30% for a South African Language of Learning and Teaching (English or Afrikaans), and an achievement rating of 4 (50% – 59%) in four 20-credit subjects.
