University of Cape Town 2026 Online Applications Open

Applications for undergraduate studies at the University of Cape Town for 2026 are now open, with the deadline quickly approaching. Applications, which opened on April 1, will close in August. Be sure to submit all required documents, including proof of payment for the non-refundable application fee, as soon as possible. Prospective applicants must complete the online application form through the UCT portal by August 31, 2025. After the deadline, no updates or new applications can be submitted.

Eligibility Requirements for UCT Applicants

National Senior Certificate (NSC): Must be approved by Umalusi with a rating of 3 or higher in four recognized NSC 20-credit subjects.
South African NSC: Must have a pass in at least four subjects with a rating of 4 (50-59%) or higher in four 20-credit NSC subjects.
South African Senior Certificate: Must have matriculation endorsement.
Non-South African School-Leaving Certificates: Must meet the matriculation exemption requirements.
English Competency: Applicants must demonstrate the required level of English proficiency.

Undergraduate Applicants: Submit all documents as certified electronic copies to admissions-ug@uct.ac.za.
Postgraduate Applicants: Submit all documents as certified electronic copies to admissions-pg@uct.ac.za.

Paying the UCT 2026 Application Fee

To process your application at the University of Cape Town, you must pay the required application fee. Ensure you make the payment promptly and keep a copy of the payment receipt for your records. Additionally, upload a copy of the receipt when submitting your application.
