How to Apply Using the University of Pretoria Online Application System

The Online Application System is intended for new prospective students applying to UP for the first time. It is not for currently registered students. Follow the steps below to complete your application:

Visit the Application Portal: Go to www.upnet.up.ac.za/psc/upapply.
Start a New Application: Select “Start New Application” from the drop-down menu.
Accept the Privacy Notice: Click “OK” on the pop-up message to proceed.
Enter Your Personal Information: Complete all required fields with accurate details.
Security Code: Carefully enter the characters shown in the security code field.
Proceed to the Next Step: Click the “Go” tab and read the disclaimer thoroughly before continuing (do not exit the page).
Complete the Application Form: Fill in all required sections and select “OK.”
Confirm Your Application: Review your information on the summary page and click “Continue” to confirm.
Receive Login Details: A unique ID and temporary password will be sent to your email address. Ensure you use a valid and active email account.
Log In: Use the ID and temporary password provided to access your application through the link in your email.
Create a New Password (Optional): You may update your password after logging in.
Save Your Progress: Click “Save and Next” to proceed through the sections.
Edit and Upload Documents: The application summary page allows you to make changes and upload the required supporting documents in the specified format.

Important: Receiving a student number (EMPLID) does not mean you have been admitted to the University of Pretoria. Admission is a separate process and will only be confirmed after your application has been evaluated by the relevant faculty.

Life Orientation: 4 (D Symbol: 50%-59%) (Excluded when calculating the APS)
Two other subjects: 4 (D Symbol: 50%-59%)
An Admission Points Score (APS) of 32
