The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is now accepting online applications for the 2026 academic year. The application period runs from April 2, 2025, to September 30, 2025.

Requirements for Online Application to the University of the Western Cape

Documents Needed for UWC Submission During the Online Application Process

Attach the documents below during the application process

Certified Good Conduct Certificate from your current or former university
Module content and Yearbook descriptors from your institution for all of the completed
Modules, certified official academic transcript
Certificate for a certified degree (if applicable)
A senior certificate or a certified copy of your NSC certificate
Your identification document, certified (ID)

The University of the Western Cape Courses and Entry Requirements

The University has set the minimum academic requirements for admission to the University of the Western Cape study programmes in 2026.
The requirements are based on applicants’ South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination results.
Applicants who hold certificates from a different examination system will be considered individually for admission.
If you satisfy the minimum admission requirements stated, this does not automatically mean that you will be admitted to the study programme at the University of the Western Cape.
The final decision on your admission will be based on your academic performance and the availability of space in the programme.
The better your academic performance above this minimum, the better your chance of being admitted to study at the University of the Western Cape in 2025.

Choose “Apply Now.”
Read the instructions before proceeding.
Choose a program.
Examine the entry requirements.
Fill in the blanks with the required information, including the application year, and indicate your qualifications.
Upload the necessary documents.
Log in with your Application Number to upload the required application documents.
You must log in with your Student Number if you are a current student and need to upload a copy of your ID document.
Complete your online application and click “Submit” to send it to us for review.
