The Vaal University of Technology will accept online applications for its 2025 intake from April 1, 2024, to October 31, 2024. Vaal University of Technology (VUT) will host an online application portal/login for graduate and undergraduate students in South Africa from April 1, 2024, to October 30, 2024. For the intake of 2025–2026, the Vaal University of Technology will only accept online applications from foreign candidates until October 31, 2024.

These steps are designed to help you get through the application process without finding it to be difficult or intimidating. To help you with your application process before you apply, we’ve included some information below.

VUT 2025 Application Date

Applications for the 2025 academic year at Vaal University of Technology (VUT) are closing soon! Don’t wait until the last minute (October 31st, 2024) as courses may fill up. Apply now to secure your spot for the upcoming year. Remember, VUT’s typical application window runs from April to October, so act fast!

Application Documents Required of every applicant:

Without these documents, any fully completed application—manual or online—is invalid and cannot be handled.

Certified copy of South African identity document.
Certified copy of final Grade 11 or any Grade 12 results.
Application Fee of R100 (non-refundable).
Application forms without proof of payment will not be accepted. NB: In case of applications submitted by mail.

The authority of the university has sanctioned two application forms, online and hard copy. All these application modes attract an application fee as already indicated.

Vaal University of Technology (VUT) Online Application Process

Follow sequentially to apply online to the Vaal University of Technology for the 2025/2026 admissions

Applicants should enter into their browsers www.vut.ac.za
Click on the apply tab to commence your application
An applicant must have a student number as a first-time applicant to apply online. This is achieved by providing your bio-data including a working email in the field provided.
The student number with a pin will be sent to the email. Check your spam if you didn’t get any form of notification.
Login with this student number when you return to the application portal
Begin by selecting your qualifications or courses to pursue. Ensure you meet the requirements for the chosen program. Click on the save and continue tab to proceed
At this stage, all the supporting documents must be uploaded. You cannot proceed if you leave a document. The documents must be scanned and certified with not more than 5MB in size.
Once you have received the number, proceed to effect the application fee payment, and remember to use your student number as the reference.
Once your payment is made, applicants should finalize their process by reviewing to ensure all required fields are completed.
Once you are sure of this, click on the submission tab to submit your fully completed application form.
You will be notified once it is submitted successfully

How to apply using a hard copy form

Manual applicants after downloading the application form should follow the steps below to fill out their form:

Complete the application form in full and answer all questions.
Write in plain block letters in the squares and use a black pen.
Mark only the appropriate answer with an X in the squares where options are given

Admission Requirements

Initial selection will be based on final Grade 11 or any Grade 12 results (final, mid-year, and/or 3rd quarter).
