Vaal University of Technology (VUT) 2027 Online Application Guide

Vaal University of Technology will open the 2027 application cycle to the general public on 1 April 2026. Prospective students, both domestic and international, are invited to apply for their preferred undergraduate or postgraduate programmes. As spaces are limited, only applications submitted within the official application period will be considered for the selection process.

VUT 2027 Application Closing Date

VUT expects all 2027 academic applications to be submitted with proof of application fee payment by the closing date of September 30, 2026.

Residence Application: October 31, 2026 (must be completed separately)

Who Is Eligible to Apply

Vaal University of Technology invites applications from the following categories of prospective students:

First-time applicants, including Grade 11 and Grade 12 learners
Domestic and international students
Transfer students from other institutions
Students with physical disabilities

Required Application Documents

All prospective applicants must submit the following documents:

Certified copy of a valid ID document
Certified copy of Grade 11 results or the latest Grade 12 report
Certified copies of complete academic records/results
Proof of residential address
Proof of payment of the application fee

NOTE

Applications that are submitted without these required documents—whether completed manually or online—will be considered incomplete and will not be processed.

Application Fee and Mode of Payment

All applicants, regardless of country of origin or level of qualification, are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of R110.

Payment can be made online or via the VUT ABSA Bank account. Detailed payment instructions will be provided during the online application process.

Click on “Admissions.”
Select “New Students.”
Register your profile on the application portal.
Complete the online application form.
Upload all required supporting documents.
Upload proof of payment of the application fee.
Submit your completed application before September 30, 2026.

General Admission Requirements for Vaal University of Technology

To study at the Vaal University of Technology (VUT), applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

A National Senior Certificate (NSC) or an equivalent qualification recognized by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
A minimum Admission Point Score (APS) of approximately 20–27 points, excluding Life Orientation, depending on the course.
English language proficiency, usually Level 4 (50–59%) or higher.
Mathematics, Technical Mathematics, or Mathematical Literacy, with the required achievement level depending on the programme.
