Apply to Wits University for 2025! The application portal opens on March 1st.

The University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) is accepting applications for undergraduate and graduate programs starting March 1, 2024. Most programs have an application deadline of September 30, 2024, but some popular programs may close earlier if they reach capacity. Applications for these programs will be accepted on a rolling basis until all spots are filled.

Even if you miss the deadline for a program in high demand, you can still apply. The University will consider late applications if there are still openings available

Starting your application? Here’s what you need to do first:

Gather all the required documents. Don’t wait until you’re halfway through the online form! Having everything ready upfront makes things much easier.
Make sure you have a working phone number and email address. The university will use these to reach you throughout the application process and beyond. You’ll also get your student ID number via email, so keep an eye out!

Complete Your Application to Avoid Disqualification: Submit Required Documents

Ensure a smooth application process by uploading all necessary documents. This includes your certificates, proof of payment, and either your National Identification Number or Passport number. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

Study Program Application Fees for 2025

Domestic applicants submitting online applications for 2025 will incur a fee of R100, while international applicants will pay R700. Please remember that this application fee is non-refundable.

Paying Your 2025 Application Fee: Easy Options Available

There are a few convenient ways to settle your application fee for the upcoming academic year. You can either:

Deposit funds directly to the university’s bank account.
Use your mobile phone to send money via MTN MOMO.

For the mobile payment option, simply scan the barcode on your student fee statement using the MTN MOMO app.
