Document Requirements for VUT 2026 Applications

You will require the documents listed below based on your citizenship.

For Domestic Students:

A copy of your most recent school results (Grade 12 or equivalent)
A copy of your South African ID
If you have previously attended another higher education institution, a copy of your academic transcript
Proof of payment for the application fee

For International Students:

A valid passport and identification pages
Transcript or the latest academic results
Proof of registration at your home university (if applicable)
Proof of medical insurance

VUT Application Fee For 2026 Intake

The online application fee for the Vaal University of Technology’s 2026 academic intake is R100 for all applicants. To pay the fee, applicants must deposit the exact amount into the official VUT ABSA account (Account Number: 530861945) or pay online using a credit (Visa or Mastercard) or debit card, as cash and cheques are not accepted at any VUT office.

Use your student number (provided after applying) as the reference. Failure to provide proof of payment will result in the rejection of applications.

How to Apply Online for VUT 2026

To apply online to study at Vaal University of Technology:

Go to www.vut.ac.za
Click on the Menu link.
Select and click on the “Study at VUT” option.
Choose the option “I want to Study.”
Carefully read the instructions.
Verify the general entrance requirements and the Entry Point Score (APS).
Select and click on new applicant
Enter your identity number
Complete all the required fields
Select 2 study courses
Enter your academic and employment background
Key in your academic results
Upload all required materials.
Pay the application fee.
Upon completion, click on submit.

How to Check Your VUT Application Status

To track the status of your application:

Go to the official VUT website.
Enter your student ID and PIN after selecting Admission Status on the left side of the page.
Select “Login.”

Registration for 2026 at VUT

Online registration for the 2026 academic year will open to all new students accepted for the intake. The registration period typically runs from January to February of the year of study. When you receive an offer to study at VUT, make sure you have your registration fee and supporting documentation ready.
