NSFAS Application Required Documents For 2025

Are you preparing to apply for financial aid for your university or college studies? If this is the case, you must read this article. During the application procedure, most candidates fail to upload the required application materials, and those that do frequently struggle with the presentation of their documents. Keep in mind that if you fail to upload or submit one of the essential documents, your application will be rejected.

One of the reasons applications are not considered for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) funding is candidates’ insufficient documentation. During the 2024 application period, we will lead you through the many documents that must be uploaded or filed

When Should You Submit Nsfas Supporting Documents for 2025?

The idle and best time for you to upload or submit the documents is when you are finishing the online application form or submitting the paper application form within the application period. The NSFAS office mandates the submission of all supporting documents via the portal by January 31, 2025, or the application form will be deemed invalid.

Proper Format for NSFAS Required Documents

Documents should be scanned, saved with unique names, and encrypted without passwords or security pins, and should be in PDF, TIFF, or Docx format, uploaded separately

How to Submit the supporting documents

Those who prefer paper-based applications have four options for sending their documentation. These are the

  • In-person Submission: hand in your completed application form and supporting documents to the Financial Aid Office (FAO) at your university or Tvet College.
  • Email Submissions: @ apply@nsfas.org.za.
  • Fax Delivery: 086 644 2822.
  • Mail Delivery. Private Bag X4, Plumstead, Western Cape, 7801

The list of Supporting Documents for the 2025 Applications is now available.

Applicable to All:

  • A certified copy of your ID that is no older than three months and a completed consent form.

SASSA recipient:

  • Cеrtіfіеd copy оf your ID, nоt оldеr than 3 mоnthѕ
  • A signed аnd completed соnѕеnt fоrm

Dependent applicant, рlеаѕе рrоvіdе:

  • Cеrtіfіеd ID copies оf раrеnt/ѕ, guardian, spouse nоt оldеr thаn 3 mоnthѕ
  • Proof of іnсоmе of a parent, guаrdіаn оr ѕроuѕе (рауѕlір оr appointment letter)

Employed and self-sufficient

  • Proof оf income (рауѕlір or appointment lеttеr)
  • 3 уearѕ IRP5
