Documents Needed for VUT Submission During the Online Application Process

Prospective students applying to the Vaal University of Technology for the January 2025 intake should have the following documents available to upload while their application is being processed:

South African Applicants
Certified copy of South African identity document.
Certified copy of final Grade 11 or any Grade 12 results.
Application Fee of R100 & R110 (non-refundable).
Application forms without proof of payment will not be accepted. NB: In case of applications submitted by mail.

The Vaal University of Technology Application Fees for 2025-2026 Online Applications:

When you submit your study application for 2025-2026, you must pay an application fee of R100.00. Please keep in mind that the application fee is not refundable. When your application is denied, your money will not be returned. Banking information and other payment methods are available on the official website, www.vut.ac.za.

How to Apply at the Vaal University of Technology

To begin, you must obtain an application form. You can download the application form from the Vaal University of Technology’s website, contact its information department, and request that it be mailed to you, or pick it up at any of its campuses.

Please be aware that the NSFAS 2025 appeals process is now open to all returning, continuing, and new students. Within 30 days of receiving the unsuccessful status, students should file an appeal through their myNSFAS account. For more information on how to file an appeal, go to www.nsfas.org.za.

Upload scanned and certified copies of all supporting documents (max 5MB each).

Use your student number as a reference when paying the application fee.

Click “submit” to finalize your application.

Step 5: Confirmation:

You’ll receive a notification once your application is successfully submitted.

Remember:

Applications close September 30th.
Certified copies of your ID and final Grade 11/12 results are required.
A non-refundable application fee applies.

The Vaal University of Technology Courses and Entry Requirements

The University has set the minimum academic requirements for admission to the Vaal University of Technology study programmes in 2025.
The requirements are based on applicants’ South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination results.
Applicants who hold certificates from a different examination system will be considered individually for admission.
If you satisfy the minimum admission requirements stated here, this does not automatically mean that you will be admitted to the study programme at the Vaal University of Technology.
The final decision on your admission will be based on your academic performance and the availability of space in the programme.
The better your academic performance above this minimum, the better your chance of being admitted to study at the Vaal University of Technology in 2025.
