How to Reapply at UFS | UFS Readmission Online Form 2027

The University of the Free State (UFS) is now accepting readmission applications for the 2027 academic year. This opportunity is open to students who were previously refused admission, as well as those who need to return after academic exclusion. You can submit your readmission application online via the UFS Readmission Form at www.ufs.ac.za.

UFS Readmission Application Dates – 2027 Academic Year

Students seeking readmission for the January 2027 intake must submit their applications between April 1 and September 30, 2026. Deadlines may vary depending on your chosen course, so it’s important to check specific faculty requirements. Online submissions are the primary method unless stated otherwise.

How to Reapply at UFS

If your readmission application for the 2026 academic year was declined, you must submit a new application for 2027. The readmission process requires completing the online UFS Readmission Form, which can be submitted only once per intake.

Appealing a Readmission Decision

If you wish to challenge a decision by the Readmission Committee (RAC), you can request a review by the University Readmissions Review Tribunal (URRT). To do this:

Complete the readmission application form.
Submit a formal appeal via email to academicappeal@ufs.ac.za within four days of receiving the RAC decision.
Include supporting documentation outlining the grounds for your appeal.

Both new applicants and returning students must follow these steps to be considered for readmission.

Requirements for UFS Readmission – 2027

To successfully submit your readmission application, you need:

A valid email address.
A working cell phone number.

If you don’t have an email address, create one for free at www.gmail.com before starting the application process.

Once you have these, you can create a profile and complete the online application form. Make sure to submit your application before the September 30, 2026, deadline to ensure consideration.

Who Can Appeal

Students eligible to appeal include:

Those who exceeded their residential period according to Faculty Rules or General Rules for undergraduate or postgraduate programs.
Students academically excluded for not complying with Faculty Rules or progression requirements.

Note: Incomplete applications will not be considered by the URRT.

Documents Needed for Readmission

To strengthen your readmission application for 2027, gather the following documents:

Motivation Letter – Explain why you believe the URRT should review the RAC’s decision. Indicate whether evidence was overlooked, a procedural irregularity occurred, or both.
Supporting Evidence – If you claim the RAC did not consider relevant evidence, attach copies.
RAC Outcome Letter – Include the letter outlining the initial decision.
Registration Document (Academic Data Summary) – Shows your academic history at UFS.
