Is Rhodes University Online Application Open For 2026

Rhodes University is now accepting applications for the 2026 academic year. The application portal opens on April 1, 2025, and will remain open until November 30, 2025, for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. We encourage prospective students to apply early as spaces are limited.

Students can also apply for NSFAS financial aid, which will be available starting in September 2025. Visit www.nsfas.ac.za for more information.

Application Deadlines

The online application period for Rhodes University ends on November 30, 2025. Late applications will only be considered if space is still available, so it’s recommended to submit your application before the deadline.

Required Documents

Make sure to gather the necessary documents before applying:

Domestic Students

A copy of your official school results.
A copy of the deposit slip, if you have deposited money into the University account.
If you have been awarded a bursary, a copy of your letter of the award should have been faxed through to the Fees Office.
School leavers: Your final NSC/ A level / IGCSE results.
Transferring students: Your transcript from your previous university and course outlines.

International students:

Proof of Initial Fee (IF) clearance by no later than 21 January 2026.
Passport with a valid study visa to study specifically at Rhodes University.
A medical aid membership certificate, which can be verified by Consultants, Simeka Health (Pty) Ltd
If your A-level or IGCSE results are not available at the time of registration, you will not be permitted to register until they are. If you pre-registered, you will be given a confirmation number.

Go to www.ross.ru.ac.za
Register your Rhodes account
Activate your account via the email link sent to you
Enter your password to login
Click on Admission on the Application Page
Complete the application by providing all the required information
Tick the “Accept Terms and Conditions” box
Click Submit.
Pay the R100 application fee using the provided payment options.
If paying by bank transfer, email the deposit slip with your application number as the reference to registrar@ru.ac.za.
Once submitted, your application will be processed.
