It will close at 11:59 pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. However, certain programs have an earlier deadline of May 31, 2025, so confirming the specific program deadlines is essential.

How to Apply to MUT

Mangosuthu University of Technology encourages all prospective and returning students to apply for undergraduate courses online through the CAO at www.cao.ac.za. However, postgraduate candidates are allowed to apply directly to the university.

When to Apply to MUT (2026 academic intake)

The Mangosuthu University of Technology admissions portal for the 2026 academic intake is open for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses from April 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025, with some courses having earlier closing dates. Applications submitted after this period will be considered if only there are spaces in the concerned course.

MUT Application Fees

The university accepts both manual and electronic applications. There are application fees associated with both methods:

• Early submissions: R210
• Late submissions: R420

It is important to note that the application fee is higher for late submissions. Therefore, it is recommended to submit your application early to avoid the additional fee.
