Eligibility Criteria for NSFAS 2024 Monthly Allowances
To qualify for NSFAS monthly allowances in 2024, students need to meet specific criteria. These requirements include:
- You must be a South African citizen or have a permanent resident in South Africa.
- Your total household income must be R350 000 or less per year.
- persons with disabilities should not have an income exceeding R600,000 per year.

NSFAS Additional Requirements

NSFAS Monthly Allowance Disbursement Process:

University Enrollment: After receiving funding confirmation, ensure that you are officially enrolled in a qualifying institution for the academic year.

Disbursement: The monthly allowance will be deposited directly into your NSFAS wallet on a specified date each month.
How Much is NSFAS Allowance Every Month For 2024
All NSFAS-approved students for every month will be paid the following
- Starting in February 2024, every NSFAS-approved student residing in an urban, peri-urban, or remote area will get an allowance every month of R2,000, R1,575, or R1,312.5.
- A living allowance of R1,250.00 per Month
- Books and other Learning Materials allowances of R433.30 per Month
- Transportation allowances of R625.00
- Personal care allowance of R241.66 per Month
