We understand that completing your application may come with challenges, and we are here to provide you with all the information you need to successfully apply to South West Gauteng TVET College.

Application Date 2026

South West Gauteng TVET College will only consider applications received between September 1, 2025, and November 30, 2025, for the 2026 academic intake. Late applications will not be processed. Please note that applying does not guarantee acceptance. Apply on time, as spaces are limited, and preference will be given to merit-based applicants and those who applied before the closing date

Successful applicants to South West Gauteng TVET College will be notified via SMS or email after the application closing date with details on registration and enrollment. SWGC does not charge any administration or registration fees

How to Apply at SWGC for 2026

Follow these steps to apply for the 2026 academic intake at South West Gauteng TVET College

Step 1: Complete Career Guidance/Placement Test.

Step 2: Fill out the online application form (all questions are compulsory).

Step 3: You will receive a student number (note: this does not indicate acceptance).

Step 4: Login using the student number and PIN you created (keep these details safe).

Step 5: Accept the student’s terms and conditions and code of conduct.

Step 6: Upload required documents:

    • Certified copy of the latest results/qualification.
    • Certified copy of the ID document.
    • Medical statement from a registered doctor (if applicable).
    • For foreign students: Certified copies of passport, valid study permit, and SAQA-approved foreign qualification.

Step 7: Carefully select the course/program and campus.

Step 8: The college will process your application and inform you of the outcome (accepted/declined).

Step 9: Accept or decline the invitation to register.

Step 10: Registration process:

  •   Log in to the student portal with your student number and PIN.
  • Click on “Registration.”
  • Accept rules and regulations to proceed.
  • Submit your registration.
  • Select your subjects (click “Save”).
  • Choose your study mode (full-time or part-time) and remember to save/accept.
  • Review the summary of costs and subject selections and save/accept.
  • Print a proof of registration (PDF), sign it, and submit it.

Step 11: Collection of books, student cards, and classes commence.

Admission and Selection Criteria

For entry into the NVC at NQF Level 2, you require:

  • A year-end report for Grades 9, 10, 11, or 12 or an
  • An NQF Level 1 qualification, or
  • An approved bridging program designed for the specific purpose of accessing  NQF Level 2, or
  • A Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment to meet the basic requirements for access to NQF Level 2.
