The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is accepting applications for the 2025-2026 academic year. UWC is a highly respected institution offering both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. What You Will Need to Start a New Application at the University of the Western Cape

To start a new application at UWC for 2025-2026, the following requirements must be met:

Your local police station must certify these documents.
The Certification must be no more than 60 days old at the time of application.
Use a browser that is compatible with all of your applications and inquiries.
Check that your ID card is a government-issued identification card.

Your academic credentials must be a scanned copy of the original issued by your previous institute.
Indicate on the University of the Western Cape application form if you require campus housing.

There is NO application fee for applying to the University of the Western Cape

Every applicant for the University of the Western Cape Admission is not required to pay any application fee. The University of the Western Cape will only accept and process your application if all required documents are received within the application deadlines.

Prospective students must submit the following documents when applying to the University of the Western Cape. These are the documents needed to apply online to the University of the Western Cape. Your application form is invalid without these documents, and it may be rejected for 2025 January intake admissions.

A senior certificate or a certified copy of your NSC certificate
Your identification document, certified (ID)
Certified Good Conduct Certificate from your current or former university
Module content and Yearbook descriptors from your institution for all of the completed
Modules, certified official academic transcript
Certificate for a certified degree (if applicable)

Before applying to the University of the Western Cape, you should download the prospectus and read about the entry and minimum requirements of the course you want to study in 2025 at the University of the Western Cape. You may select up to two study options as first and second choices on the application form. During the online application process, you will be able to select the course code from a drop box.

Please go to “https://www.uwc.ac.za/apply-now” to access the application portal.
Choose “Apply Now.”
Read the instructions before proceeding.
Choose a program.
Examine the entry requirements.
Fill in the blanks with the required information, including the application year, and indicate your qualifications.
Upload the necessary documents.
Log in with your Application Number to upload the required application documents.
You must log in with your Student Number if you are a current student and need to upload a copy of your ID document.
Complete your online application and click “submit” to send it to us for review.

How to Upload the University of the Western Cape Outstanding documents

To upload all supporting and required documents, go through the steps below:

Click on the Load/ View Document to submit your first document
Click on the UPLOAD DOCUMENT button
Select your saved scanned Matric document (document must be saved as .tiff, pdf, .jpg, or .gif) from your device
Click on the SAVE and then the CLOSE button
Click on the CLOSE button again
Click on the CLOSE button again
Select the COMPLETE UPLOAD button to finalize your online application process.
