UWC Postgraduate Online Application 2024/2025

All prospective postgraduate students can now use the University of the Western Cape’s (UWC) online postgraduate application site for the academic year 2024/2025. This page contains information on how to apply, admissions requirements, application fees, registration dates, and deadlines for the 2024/2025 academic year.

You can fill out and submit an online application to the University of the Western Cape (UWC) by following the instructions on this page.

What it means to be a postgraduate Applicant:

A student who has successfully completed an undergraduate degree-level course at a college or university and is pursuing additional study at a more advanced level is known as a postgraduate.

Opening and closing Dates for Application: Postgraduate applicants are reminded to complete the online application form and submit all required documents by no later than 30 September (30 August for School of Government postgraduate degrees). Applicants who do not submit required documents will be viewed as having an incomplete application and will not be considered for selection purposes. The University will not be held responsible for such incomplete applications

Application Fee: All potential applicants will have access to the online site to submit their applications after May 14, 2023. There is no charge for this. Administrative or application fees are not levied by the University of the Western Cape.

Prospective Postgraduate applicants must possess the following documents

Certified copy of identification document
Certified copy of Passport (International Applicants only)
Official Academic Transcripts/record of results (All applicants)
Certified copies of degree certificates (All applicants)
SAQA Evaluation Certificate (International Applicants only)
Short Curriculum Vitae (CV) (All applicants)
One-page letter of motivation (All applicants)
Short research intention (Master and Doctoral applicants only)

How to Apply for Admission

Prospective postgraduate applicants must visit the official website @http://student.uwc.ac.za/
on the application portal and select ‘ New Application” if they are applying for the first time.
If you are returning to complete or correct your application, click on the Edit Application
Click on the Green button to accept the terms and conditions before you can proceed
A new page opens, and to begin with, your application. There are 10 steps to complete depending on the options you select
A “*” next to a field denotes mandatory information.
Only applications that have ACCEPTED the terms and conditions of the University Western Cape will be valid
Provide your details including your ID details to generate your student Number.
Click on the submit button to submit your details
An email will be sent to the given email address which contains the student number
Applicant should choose two study programmes.
