The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) has extended the deadline for submitting late admission applications for 2025. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements can still apply until November 26, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. by visiting the www.cput.ac.za website. When should you apply for CPUT 2025 Late Applications?

According to a publicly released notice, “The last date for submitting online applications for the courses for 2025 at CPUT has been extended till 11:59 p.m. on November 26, 2024, on Tuesday.

Who is eligible for CPUT 2025 late applications/Who can apply for CPUT late applications 2025?

Fresh or new applicants are not eligible for this late application window, exclusively for returning CPUT students. Only those who fall into one of the following categories and are returning or senior students may apply during this time.

  • Students taking a gap year.
  • Students wishing to complete phasing-out programs.

What programs are available for late application?

Except for full research master’s and doctoral studies, which will remain open until March 15, 2025, and are open to all applicants, the list of late application programs is only available to students who have taken a break in their studies or who wish to finish their phasing out programs.

CPUT hasn’t yet released the specific list of programs open for late applications. However, you can expect to find a range of options across various faculties, including:

  • Informatics and Design
  • Health and Wellness Sciences
  • Education
  • Business and Management Sciences
  • Engineering and the Built Environment

What can I do?

Gather and Scan all supporting documents Required:

It is advisable to gather all required supporting documentation and have them scanned and certified as needed before the application portal opens, as CPUT 2025 late applications are restricted to the most competitive programs. The documents listed below might be required to complete your 2025 late applications.

South African Citizens:

  • Certified copy of your Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • If you’re currently in Grade 12, submit your Grade 11 marks.
  • Certified copies of your Academic Record and Certificate of Conduct.
  • Certified copy of your ID document (first page).
  • Minor applicants must submit a Minor Application Declaration

International Applicants:

  • Certified copy of your school-leaving certificate, translated into English.
  • Valid study visa.
  • Proof of medical insurance for the duration of your studies.

Permanent Residency Applicants:

  • Academic Record
  • Final Grade 12 and School Leaving Results
  • English Proficiency Test Results

RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) Applicants:

General Requirements for All Documents:

  • Certified copies must be less than 3 months old.
  • Scan documents in one of the following formats: tiff, pdf, jpg, or gif (No Word or Excel files).
  • Maximum file size is 2MB per document.

Uploading Documents:

  • Upload documents individually against the specified Certificate Codes during the online application process.

How much is the application fee for Cape Peninsula University of Technology?

Typically, applying for a CPUT 2025 application is free. However, a late application/submission for 2025 will cost an applicant R150.00 before it is processed. This means that any application filed without the required fee will be rejected by the management of Central Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT).

Apply online: Submit your application electronically through the CPUT website.

It is required that all applications be submitted online and at no cost. Simply follow the steps below to do so within the application period

  • Go to https://www.cput.ac.za, the CPUT late Application Portal.
  • Choose ONLINE APPLICATIONS and click on it.
  • Type in the number from your passport or ID.
  • Choose a program from the list of options.
  • Make sure you meet the minimum admission and subject requirements for the program of your choice by consulting the prospectuses for 2024.
  • Fill out the appropriate fields.
  • Save and upload every relevant document.
  • Submit the completed online late CPUT application.

Track CPUT Late Application Status For 2025-2026

The applicant will receive an SMS with the results of the selection process, which will take place within the relevant faculties. However, by following the instructions below, you can check the status of your application for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Through Student Online Services (SOS):

  • If you have already registered for SOS, you can log in to your account:
  • Click on the “Students” tab at the top of the website.
  • Select “Student Online Services (SOS)”.
  • Log in with your student number or ID number and password.
  • Once logged in, you should be able to view your application status within your SOS dashboard.
