Submitting your application documents on time is crucial, even though it doesn’t guarantee admission. Here’s a summary of the key deadlines and requirements for Nelson Mandela University applications in 2025-2026:

Opens: April 1, 2024
Closes: September 30, 2024 (no late applications accepted)

Document Deadline:

All supporting documents must be received by September 30, 2024.

Required Documents:

Fully completed application form
Recently certified copies (not older than one year) of:
- Original identity document
- (National) Senior Certificate
- Highest academic results

Additional Notes:

You can submit your application form without the supporting documents, but they must be submitted by the deadline.
There is an application fee payable (international applicants only).

All applicants should provide the following supporting documents for application:

A verified copy of your Grade 11 final test results or
A certified copy of your most recent Grade 12 exam results (June/September) (no March results), or
A certified copy of your matriculation certificate/statement of results if you have already passed Grade 12/completed schooling,
certified copies of your diploma/degree certificates plus academic record(s) and certificate(s) of conduct if you have studied elsewhere,
A certified copy of your ID (birth certificate if still waiting for ID),
A certified copy of the identity document of your parent/legal guardian/surety,
If you are a dependent, if you are presently in school, or studying at a tertiary institution, or if you have recently left school and do/will not have permanent work when applying or studying at the university, you must provide a declaration by your parent / legal guardian/surety.

NMU Online Application Fee for 2025-2026

There is NO application fee for applicants from South Africa; however, certified copies of your identity document, Senior Certificate/National Senior Certificate, and all other relevant documents must be submitted with the application form for 2025-2026. International applicants are to pay a non-refundable application fee of R500 into the bank account of Nelson Mandela University
