CPUT 2026 Application Window Now Open
CPUT officially opened its online admission portal for 2026 applications on May 12, 2025. All prospective students can submit their applications for the next academic year from this date.
Application Closing Dates
- Undergraduate Applications close on September 30, 2025.
- Postgraduate Applications close on March 14, 2026.
Note: Late applications may not be considered, so apply early to secure your place.
Mode of Application
All applications to CPUT must be submitted online via the official CPUT Application Portal. Manual or walk-in submissions will not be accepted for 2026 admissions, unless explicitly stated on the official website.
Who Qualifies to Apply?
The following individuals are eligible to apply:
- South African and international students.
- Grade 12 learners currently completing high school.
- Individuals with a completed matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent.
- Graduates seeking to enroll in postgraduate diplomas, master’s, or doctoral programs.
- TVET college students wanting to transfer to university programs.

- Medical insurance coverage

CPUT Entry Requirements
Each course has specific entry requirements, but the general criteria include:
Undergraduate Programs:
- National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a Bachelor’s or Diploma endorsement.
- Minimum subject pass requirements as per the course.
Postgraduate Programs:
- Relevant undergraduate qualification (Diploma, Degree, or Honours).

CPUT Application Fee for 2026
Application fees are non-refundable and must be paid before submission. This applies only to manual applicants, as online applications are completely free.

How to Apply Online at CPUT: Step-by-Step Guide
Follow these steps to submit your application successfully:
- Visit https://www.cput.ac.za.
- Click on “Online Applications.”
- Select “2026 Online Application.”
- Enter your ID number.
- Indicate whether this is your first time applying.
- Select and click on your citizenship status.
- Check the box to accept the POPI Act terms and proceed.
- Complete all required personal details.
- Provide your email address and create a secure password.
- Activate your account via your email
- Enter your Next of Kin information.
- Fill in your educational background.
- Select at least two study courses, ensuring you meet the minimum admission requirements for each.
