There is excellent news for grade 12 students who haven’t registered for a degree program! The Stellenbosch University’s application portal for 2025–2026 is open on April 1, 2024, and it will close on July 31, 2024. The online undergraduate study application is only accessible to those who meet the requirements and are interested in enrolling in the available courses.

 Stellenbosch University (SU) Online Application Procedure for 2025/2026

Follow these easy steps to apply online to study at SU for the 2024/2025 academic year.:

• Visit http://www.sun.ac.za/, the Stellenbosch University application website.
• Click the “Students” tab on the page’s top menu.
• Choose your qualification.
• Investigate your program options. Up to three programs from any faculty are open to you.
• Make sure you fulfill the requirements for the program you have chosen.
• Select “Apply” from the tabs. You must submit an application by the deadline.
• Complete your online application form. You will need an e-mail address and phone number so that SU can contact you
• As soon as you create your profile, you can follow the system prompts to proceed with your online application immediately.
• Upload all the supporting documents
• Please take your time filling out the application and offer SU accurate information.
• Send your application in.

Supporting documents for the 2025/2026 Applications

These documents include academic and non-academic documents:

• Final grade 11 results
• National Senior Certificate (NSC) or IEB/Statement of symbols of final school results
• Grade 11 results (pre-final) and final-year school subjects with levels.
• Final school results from the International Curriculum (Cambridge International, International Baccalaureate, etc.), including School of Tomorrow.
• The student support form applies to only Students with disabilities who need additional support.
• Faculty-specific documents Portfolio requirements for BA (Visual Arts)
• Proof of payment (R100 nonrefundable application fee) if you pay offline
• Proof of permanent residency, refugee, or asylum-seeking status
• Signed Student Contract

How to Receive an offer from Stellenbosch University:

Multiple offers: Applicants who applied for more than one course will receive only one offer from the university. Multiple offers will mean that applicants have the option to choose from the given courses to pursue.

Conditional offers:
The institution may accept a student who applies with grade 11 results with the condition that the student will pass the final National Senior Certificate (NSC) exam or an equivalent test and that the results comply with the program requirements.

Final offers:
Stellenbosch University will make a final offer based on the applicant’s final grade 12 results released at the beginning of the following academic year. Applicants will have three days to accept Stellenbosch University’s offer before the offer expires.

How to Accept an offer:

Local student: When you first accept an offer (whether that is a conditional or final offer), the prospective student will have to submit a signed Student Contract. The student can then proceed to register after submitting the signed contract.

International students: If you are an international student, you will receive a letter of undertaking from the university to apply for your study visa. You will undergo a pre-registration process, where the university will verify that you have the following:

•  A valid passport
• Study visa
• South African medical cover
• Proof of payment of fees
