The National Student Financial Aid Scheme and Ekurhuleni East College are working together to assist talented but financially strapped students by providing sponsorship for the duration of their studies. Take advantage of this opportunity to apply for financial aid for your study if you are an Ekurhuleni East College student with an annual income of no more than R350,000. To qualify for an NSFAS bursary, you must be a South African citizen with an annual gross income of R350,000 or less. Online applications for the EEC-NSFAS are accepted at www.nsfas.org.za from 28 September through 31 January 2024.
Who Is Eligible For Funding Under NSFAS 2024?
You must fulfill the following requirements in order to be eligible for NSFAS funding for the current academic year.
- Citizens or permanent residents of South Africa
- Grant recipients from SASSA
- Applicants whose total annual gross household income does not exceed R350 000
- individuals with disabilities whose annual gross household income is less than R600 000.
- A student with a working phone number and email
- To qualify, you must attend Ekurhuleni East College.
Documentation needed by NSFAS for prospective students
To apply for an NSFAS bursary for the academic year 2024–2025 as an Ekurhuleni East College student, you must have the following documentation.
- 3 copies of the applicant’s ID
- 2 copies of the parent’s or guardian’s ID
- If a parent or guardian is unemployed, a paystub or sworn affidavit must be provided.
- two (2) proofs of residence or address
- Student Academic Results, 2 X

NSFAS offers a range of financial opportunities and allowances to Tvet College students, including the following:
- Students at Ekurhuleni East College are eligible for NSFAS payments of R24,000, R18,900, and R15,750 annually for rent or accommodation in urban, peri-urban, and rural areas.
- Full Tuition & Registration Fees
- Transportation Allowance of R7,350 for up to 40 km from home
- Personal Care Allowance of R2,900

The actions listed below should be followed by Tvet College students who wish to apply for NSFAS financing for the academic year 2024, which will pay for tuition, registration fees, housing costs, transportation costs, and personal care:
- Go to www.nsfas.org.za online application form 2024 and choose the myNSFAS link.
- Prior to applying, create a myNSFAS account.
- To create an account, fill out the NSFAS account section.
- You should be commended for creating an NSFAS account.
- Secure your password and account.
- By selecting the “APPLY” tab, fill out the spaces on the screen.
- If any supporting documents are required, upload them.
- A “Submit” button will appear, click on it.
- Keep track of your NSFAS status with your password.
