University of Fort Hare Applications Dates (2026)

The University of Fort Hare is still accepting applications for 2026, so if you have not already, apply soon! Applications commenced on June 1st, 2025, and will close on November 29, 2025, at noon South African Standard Time (SAST). Do not wait till the last minute! You cannot check your status until you have submitted your application

How to Check Your Application Status After Grade 12 Results

If you haven’t heard back about your application within 5 working days (120 hours) after your final Grade 12 results, visit the application dashboard of the University of Fort Hare with your login details to check your status. Your status should be updated within 48 hours of the Grade 12 results release. You can see if you’ve been accepted, or declined, or if your application is still under review.

  • Visit the University of Fort Hare website: www.ufh.ac.za.
  • Select and click on the Student Enquiry Link.” from the drop-down menu.
  • Please click on Academic Admissions Status
  • Enter your application number and click “Submit”.
  • Your application status will be displayed on the screen.

Application Outcome

Meanings

Provisionally Accepted

You are accepted for now based on your Grade 12 midyear exam results; however, you will have your final acceptance to study at UFH only if you pass grade 12 final year exams and meet the Faculty requirements

Conditionally accepted

You are accepted on the condition that you pass certain other additional assessments done by faculties. For example, some Music qualifications require you to pass auditions and some departments have interviews.

Awaiting Faculty Selection

Your application has been processed but is awaiting the faculty to indicate whether you have been accepted or not.
Rejected Because of Low Scores You have not been accepted because your scores fall below faculty requirements.
Rejected because the programme is full You have not been accepted because the programme you are applying for is full.
