CPUT Semester Registration 2025 Now Open
Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) is delighted to announce that registration for the 2025 academic year is now open and ongoing. To complete your semester enrollment, go to the registration website and start the registration process right away, whether you are a returning student or a new student who has accepted an offer to study at the university.
When to register for the 2025 academic year
The opportunity to register for the 2025 intake at Cape Peninsula University of Technology will be available to all new and returning students from January 13, 2025, to Friday, February 7, 2025. However, the registration dates may vary depending on your current admission status, so be sure to check all the relevant dates.
Cape Peninsula University of Technology’s (CPUT) Registration date
Below is the breakdown of the 2026 Cape Peninsula University of Technology registration period for all new and returning students, including both undergraduate and postgraduate students:
- First Year Undergraduate intake students: Off-campus and online registration: Tuesday, 21 January 2025 – Friday, 7 February 2025
- Returning Students: Monday, 13 January 2025 – Friday, 31 January 2025
- Postgraduate Studies (Returning students): Monday, 13 January 2025 – Friday, 28 February 2025
- New students Full Research Studies (Masters and Doctoral studies): Monday, 13 January 2025 – Friday, 30 May 2025
Requirements for Academic/Course Registration for Semester One
Specifications for your computer:
- You can register online using a smartphone, tablet, or computer from the comfort of your own home or wherever you have Internet access.
- Internet Explorer 7 or higher, with Adobe Acrobat Reader 7 or higher. No other browsers are certified for online registrations at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology

Instructions for Online Users/Registrants
- Please be reminded to register within 48 hours of receipt of the automated SMS. If not, your space may be allotted to the next deserving student
- Acceptance will be confirmed via an automated SMS to your cell phone number provided during your application to the university.
Payment of Fees:
Pay the semester registration fees as required. The fee amount may vary depending on your program or course. Ensure you complete the payment process, and keep a record of the payment confirmation for your records
How to Register as a First-Year Student of CPUT for the 2025 Academic Year
If you are registering for the first time at CPUT, follow the steps below to get your modules registered:
- First-year/first-time students can only register online if their admission status is “ACCEPTED/ ACCEPTED ON FINAL RESULTS.” You will be unable to register if your status is “Waiting List”, “Rejected”, “Course Full”, “Provisional Acceptance” or any “Incomplete” related status.
- Successful applicants will also receive an automated SMS.
- You can check your status by visiting the CPUT website at https://www.cput.ac.za/study/track or by logging into SOS and going to “Student Enquiry” > “Academic Admission Status.”
- Keep in mind that there will be a line for each year you have applied for, so make sure it is the current year. If you applied for more than one qualification in the same year, each will be displayed.
- Remember to pay your registration fee before you can proceed to register.
- Submit your registration documents by uploading them
