How to Apply: Durban University of Technology (DUT) 2025–2026 Online Application Form

To apply online at DUT for 2025, applicants must follow the steps below:

  1. Visit the Central Applications Office (CAO) website at www.cao.ac.za.
  2. Complete the CAO application form online.
  3. Transcripts for grades 11 and 12, final certificates for grades 11 and 12 (June/Trial report if you haven’t taken your final test), and your identity document must all be uploaded in certified copies.
  4. The application form must be submitted by the CAO office before the application deadline of September 30, 2023. Because certain programs conclude before November 30, 2024, please consult the respective programs for the relevant termination dates.
  5. Pay the R250 (for South African citizens) or R300 (for candidates from outside of South Africa) application fee before submitting your application. This fee is not returnable.

Please Take Note: Make sure that your application AND fee reach the CAO before the closing date. Submission of a completed application form does not mean that you have been granted admission as a student, or that you may register. All applicants will be notified via email/SMS, of the outcome of their application.

Durban University of Technology (DUT) Admission Requirements 2025-2026

The minimum admission requirement is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a minimum of 30% in the language of learning and teaching of the higher education institution as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi).

Institutional and programme needs may require appropriate combinations of recognized NSC subjects and levels of achievement. For example, an institution may determine that a Higher Certificate in Architectural Design requires in addition to the NSC a specified level of attainment in Design and an associated recognized subject.
