Prospective students who wish to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications for a better career at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) can now apply online for the 2026 academic year. Applications are now open to the public — including YOU!”

This post is intended to inform all prospective students about the CPUT application process, including available programmes, admission requirements, required documents, and important deadlines.

Academic Offerings at CPUT for 2026

CPUT comprises six faculties, offering a variety of courses and programmes across the following faculties:

  • Applied Sciences
  • Business and Management Sciences
  • Education
  • Engineering & the Built Environment
  • Informatics and Design
  • Health and Wellness Sciences

These programmes are delivered across multiple campuses:

Campuses

  • Bellville Campus
  • Mowbray Campus
  • Groote Schuur Hospital
  • Tygerberg Hospital
  • Virtual Campuses (for online tours and learning)

Application Fees

CPUT provides a free online application service for all applicants. You will only be required to pay a fee of R100 if you choose to submit a manual application. Otherwise, applying online is completely free of charge.

Admission Criteria

Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee automatic acceptance into a programme, as selection is based on academic performance and space availability. Documents You’ll Need for 2026 Applications

Ensure you have the following certified documents when applying:

  • The first page of your ID or birth certificate
  • Your Senior Certificate or an equivalent qualification
    • Current Grade 12 learners should submit their Grade 11 final results
  • Your academic transcripts and Certificate of Conduct, if you’ve previously studied at another tertiary institution
  • Any other relevant qualifications (certificates, diplomas, or degrees)

How to Apply Online for 2026

Follow these steps to complete your online application:

  • Visit www.cput.ac.za
  • Select your desired programme and check for any special requirements
  • Upload all required or outstanding supporting documents
  • If you prefer a manual application, obtain the appropriate application form
  • Complete and submit your online application
  • Track your application progress and check your admission status
  • If needed, apply separately for residence accommodation

  • General Application Opening Date: Monday, 12 May 2025
    General Closing Date: 30 September 2025
