Application methods sanctioned by the University of Venda (Univen)
The institution accepts applications in two formats: the online system and the manual system. First-time and transfer applicants are made to use the ONLINE SYSTEM. Applicants who have ever tried their online system but were declined are to use the MANUAL SYSTEM. They are to download the application form on the school’s website, fill it out, and submit it. The international application brochure contains the process of applying as an international student.

What you’ll need:
- South African ID number
- Cell phone number
- Email address
- Credit/debit card with CVV number for the R100 application fee (payable online)
The application process:
- Start your application online.
- Take your time – save and return later to complete it at your own pace.
- Create a secure 5-digit PIN for future access.
- Upload scanned copies of:
- Your ID document or passport
- Grade 11 report or statement of grade 12 results (or Matric certificate)
- Review your application and click “Submit”.
- Congratulations! You’ll receive a unique student number.
- The application deadline for the University of Venda (UNIVEN) for the academic year 2025-2026 is October 31st, 2024.
MANUAL SYSTEM
Students who have previously applied on the online system must download the application form below and submit all other required documents, as well as proof of payment to the Student Administration.

- A South African Identity number or passport number (international students)
- Cell phone number
- A working email address
- Credit/debit card with CV number to pay the R100 application fee online.
- Grade 11 report or statement of grade 12 results
- A copy of Matric Certificate
How to Effect the Application Fee Payment at Univen in 2025
A R100 non-refundable application fee must be paid before your application form will be completed. Follow the steps below to learn the process.
- During the online application, applicants will be asked to pay the application fee before proceeding to the next step of the process.
- Applicants must select the option “Pay by credit card”
- Enter the details on the card such as Card Number, Card Holder Name, Expiry date (month and year), and the CVV Numbers
- Ensure there are enough funds to pay the fee
- Click on the tab “Pay Now”.
- One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your phone to authenticate the payment. Enter the number into the text box provided and click on the “Next” tab.
- You will immediately receive a payment receipt notification from Univen support via the email address you provided stating as follows “Thank you we have received your application fee”.
- Exit this page and continue with your application.
