If you’re a first-time applicant submitting your application to Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) for the 2026 intake and are unsure how to complete the process, then read this article. We have outlined all the necessary steps to help you complete and submit your application forms.

Tshwane University of Technology will accept online applications for the 2026 academic intake from April 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025. Unfortunately, applications will not be accepted after the closing date.

Requirements for Online Application to TUT

  • Google Chrome is recommended as the best browser for compatibility with the TUT online application portal.

Documents Required for TUT 2026 Admissions

Prospective students applying to Tshwane University of Technology for the January 2024 intake should have the following documents ready to upload while your application is being processed,

Applicants from South Africa

  • A copy of your results for the latest school year
  • A copy of your ID
  • If you have attended another higher education institution, we need a copy of your academic transcript
  • Copies of your original identity document, (National) Senior Certificate, and highest academic results, and the administration fee must reach TUT before the specified closing dates.​​

  • Passport, and identification pages

Application Fee and Payment Details for TUT January 2026 Intake

A non-refundable application fee of R240 is required for all prospective applicants and TUT students for the January 2026 intake.

How to Apply to TUT

To begin the application process, obtain the application form by downloading it from TUT’s website, requesting it by mail from the information department, or picking it up at any of the university’s campuses.

How To Submit An Application To TUT Online 

All prospective applicants must complete this step before submitting an application form to TUT.

  • Go to www.tut.ac.za to access the TUT website.
  • At the top of the website, choose the “MENU” tab.
  • From the drop-down list, choose “Study at TUT”.
  • Choose the option “I want to Study.”
  • Carefully read the instructions.
  • Verify the general entrance requirements and the Entry Point Score (APS).
  • Select and click on new applicant
  • Enter your identity number
  • Complete all the required fields
  • Select 2 study courses
  • Enter your academic and employment background
  • Key in your academic results
  • Upload all required materials.
  • Pay the application fee.

Upload every outstanding document by following the steps

  • STEP ONE: Log in to TUT ITS.
  • STEP TWO: On the top right, select the menu option (three horizontal lines).
  • STEP THREE: Select the Re-admission option.
  • STEP FOUR: Scroll down and click the certificate you see.
  • STEP FIVE: Click on the Load/View Documents button for the specific document, such as an ID document.
  • STEP SIX: On the pop-up menu, select Upload Document.
  • STEP SEVEN: Click Browse to navigate to the location on your device where you have saved your documents.
  • STEP EIGHT: To upload your document, click Save.
