Be sure to submit your application according to the dates below to be considered for the 2026 intake at Rhodes University

  • Rhodes University 2026 Applications Now Open as of Tuesday, April 1, 2025
    • Undergraduate Applications: Closes on 30 September 2025
    • Postgraduate Applications: Closes on 30 November 2025

Who qualifies to apply for admission at ROSS?

  • Persons applying for the first time at Rhodes University
  • Persons who were not enrolled in any course at the ROSS before
  • An applicant who did not get a Rhodes University Student number in any previous year

Document Requirements for Rhodes University 2026 Applications

Failure to upload all the required compulsory documents will result in your application not being considered

Domestic Students

  • A copy of your official school results.
  • A copy of the deposit slip, if you have deposited money into the University account.
  • If you have been awarded a bursary, a copy of your letter of the award should have been faxed through to the Fees Office.
  • School leavers: Your final NSC/ A level / IGCSE results.
  • Transferring students: Your transcript from your previous university and course outlines.

International students:

  • Proof of Initial Fee (IF) clearance by no later than 21 January 2026.
  • Passport with a valid study visa to study specifically at Rhodes University.
  • A medical aid membership certificate, which can be verified by Consultants, Simeka Health (Pty) Ltd
  • If your A-level or IGCSE results are not available at the time of registration, you will not be permitted to register until they are. If you pre-registered, you will be given a confirmation number.

N.B.: Ensure all the documents above are certified and scanned before you submit them.

How to Apply Online for Rhodes University 2026

To submit an online application to Rhodes University: Use your computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile device to access the internet, then follow the instructions below.

  • Visit www.ross.ru.ac.za and click “Application.”
  • Register with your email address and create a unique password.
  • Check your inbox for the activation email and click the link to confirm your account.
  • Log in to ROSS and select the appropriate option to apply
  • Complete the application form and review/accept the terms and conditions.
  • Pay the R100 application fee using the provided options.
  • If using a bank transfer, email the deposit slip with your application number as reference to registrar@ru.ac.za.
  • Once submitted, your application will be processed.
  • After successful submission, you’ll receive a student number and login details to access ROSS and explore your academic options.

How to Check Your ROSS Application Status

To track the status of your application at Rhodes University:

  • Go to – https://www.ru.ac.za
  • Enter your application login details and then click the Submit button
  • Your application status will be displayed on the screen.

Registration for 2026 at Rhodes University

Rhodes University’s registration period will begin on January 15, 2026, and end on February 5, 2026. The first semester of 2025 will not allow late registration. As soon as they receive their acceptance letter, applicants are encouraged to register. The registration process is first-come, first-served.
