Open to all! The University of Johannesburg’s distance education department has designed its courses to benefit any applicant, regardless of their background or circumstances. The University of Johannesburg is now accepting applications for its 2026 short course offerings

Pursue your educational goals, no matter where you are. UJ’s distance learning programs offer an inclusive and accessible pathway to higher education for everyone.

Online and In-Person Learning

The Distance Education section provides online learning with optional face-to-face contacts on weekends or other days upon request. Upon acceptance, students receive course materials and can select which days they want to attend classes

University of Johannesburg: Applications Open All Year

 The University of Johannesburg welcomes applications for studies year-round. Application forms are available at all four of the university’s campuses and can be accessed 24/7.

English is the Primary Language at UJ, Though Multilingualism is Valued

While the University of Johannesburg recognizes and celebrates the diverse languages spoken in Gauteng (English, Sesotho sa Leboa, Afrikaans, and isiZulu), all academic programs are conducted solely in English.
