No matter their race, ethnicity, ethnic identity, religion, gender, or place of origin, all aspiring students are welcome to submit a University of Johannesburg (UJ) admission application form for 2024/2025 as long as they satisfy the prerequisites for the program for which they are applying.

South Africans and interested foreign applicants may submit an electronic or paper application as Government Sponsored or Private candidates for admission to the University of Johannesburg (UJ)

Planning for the Application Deadline for Admissions in 2024/2025

Prospective students can begin applying to the University of Johannesburg (UJ) from April 1, 2023, through October 31, 2023. All applicants—undergraduate and graduate—from South Africa and other countries are eligible to use this application form. Due to the restricted space, applicants are urged to start their applications as soon as possible.

Who to apply using the application form in 2024/2025

Both the manual and computerized application processes are permitted by the institution. The application form (HARD COPY) for manual applicants should be downloaded from the same page ( It must be filled out in ink by applicants, who must also provide proof that they paid the university’s mandatory application fee before the deadline.

Does the Manual Application in 2024/2025 require an application fee?

There is a non-refundable cost of R200 for manual applications. Both residents and non-residents who apply on paper must pay this fee. use the account information stated below to effect the payment and attach a copy of the receipt when submitting your full application form

Completing the Application Form Instructions

Please read the instructions carefully and fill out all sections that apply.

  1. Forms that are incomplete will not be processed for 2024/2025 admissions.
  2. Each applicant must fill out only ONE application form with 2 study courses.

Fill out your paper application form by following the instructions listed below.

  •  Select your qualification study choices 1 and 2. (Ensure you meet the admission requirements as set out in this prospectus.)
  •  If you do not have a UJ student number, please make an application fee payment and complete the UJ academic application form.
  •  Submit your application to any of UJ’s 4 campuses. Please allow for three weeks before checking on the status of your application.

When you’re finished, mail the completed hard copy form to the address listed below.

Academic Documents

These are the supporting documents that must be attached to your application form for 2024/2025

  • Applicants from South Africa Applicants from outside South Africa
    • Copies of your identification documents that have been certified (ID)
    • A certified copy of your Grade 12 examination results if you have completed
    • Certified copy of your Grade 11 (if you’re in Grade 12 right now)
    • A working email address is required
    • A certified copy of your native country’s identification document
    •  A certified copy of your passport number from your home country
    • Study Visa in South Africa
    • Medical Report
    • English Proficiency For Undergraduate programs, proof of IELTS with an overall score of 6 and TOEFL with an average score of 80–104 is required. For those whose high school courses were taught in a language other than English, this is applicable.
